Summary[]
The Mystery Train is a guild that visits other guilds. Between stops, members usually role play or discuss topics related to the current challenge or previous stops. All Habiticans are welcome on the Mystery Train . Hop aboard and explore the guilds of Habitica!

The Mystery Train was set in motion by Gloomheart, who was the First Engineer. Others have directed the directed the Train, notably Gloom's best friend Cinnamon Toast. We made our first stop at the Redholme Fighters' Guild on May 12, 2018.

Description[]
Welcome to the Mystery Train, Habitica’s only tour around the Guilds and other places of wonder. The engine was born from the seed of a star and now it runs on the dreams of Habiticans across the world. Why would you come aboard? Because you found a ticket in your pocket. Take a ride on the Mystery Train as we journey to Guilds large and small. Perhaps you will find a place you would like to visit again. Perhaps you will meet another passenger that will change your life. This is the way of the Mystery Train!
Currently stationed: The Train is currently stopped until further noticed. It is being serviced in Habit City near the Tavern. It has been prepped for permanent decommission on August 8, 2023. After that date, it will be on permanent display in Habit City, along with commemorations and memorials.
The Conductors insist on the following rules:[]
- Do not abuse or harass any Guild that we visit. We are invited guests. Any violation of Community Guidelines will be reported immediately.
- Violators will be deposited at our stops at the Fortress of Neglect or the Swamps of Stagnation.
On role playing:[]
If you wish to roleplay, please observe the following conventions:
- Normal text is the player’s (user's) voice. This is the assumed default. Most players choose to begin an out-of-character statement with two slash marks //
- Text in “quotes” is spoken by your character/avatar.
- When narrating or emoting, use the code function wrapping your text in ` (backtick/grave accent). Backtick may be located in different areas of your keyboard. This external link may be helpful. This text will display as normal text on most mobile devices.
- Please never narrate another person's actions or take direct action on another unless you've established they want to role play with you. In other words, keep your virtual hands to yourself until you have a relationship or scenario with mutual understanding.

As we ride, we grow. These are the cars that have been established to exist so far:

- The dining car(s) (upgraded with luxury dessert bar)

- Library car (your borrower card will be issued when your ticket is stamped or later by request)

- The Grand Mystery Stage and Cinema (dedicated to 1000 members and New Year's 2021)

Rail guides are exceptionally helpful in establishing the role-play, roles, and tenor of the Mystery Train. They can use an attention grabbing header as deemed necessary. They also enforce Habitica's Community Guidelines. Mystery Train Challenges[]
Mystery Train challenges have two themes: They are always associated with exploration or trying something new. The other theme is associated with one of the cars on the Mystery Train. Most challenges will run for a long duration in order to allow many people to participate. The winner will be chosen randomly from any participant that completes the task(s). Please post about your experience, either in real-life, or weave it into your role-play narrative.

Final Destination[]
Following the accounment that the Guilds feature would be discontinued by Habitica, gloomheart posted on August 4, 2023:
With a series of hisses and lurches, the Mystery Train comes to its last stop
It only traveled a short distance from the Tavern, which is currently being nailed shut. A crew from Habit City helps haul the Mystery Train into place in a large warehouse. The warehouse is full of crates, treasures, plaques, memorabilia, and…doorways.
a tin voice echoes through the cars via the communication tubes:“Greetings passengers. We have at last arrived at our destination.”
// I can’t express how grateful I am for the opportunity to be your conductor – At the beginning, at the end, and with @CinnamonToast and the rest of the Crew in between. Beffy is a member of the Habitica staff that helped me greenlight this concept. We had a lot of assistance and intervention from Foxes and Witches. They maintained order when our talented crew couldn’t put the stick about. Most of all, I’m grateful to you, our passengers and all fellow Habiticans. It is the community that made this place worth visiting. I have a few parting words.
//Like your Habits, plan big, start small. Don’t wait for the perfect time or the ideal conditions to begin something or to commit to change. Like the Mystery Train, you all have a starseed that can glow brightly, as long as you give it the nurturing it needs. There will be bumps along the way, plans will change, and you will often need to ask others for help. But you can keep chugging. Your only boundary is your imagination.
“As you disembark, please note the various exits and portals. I will be distributing some of the starseed’s spark and some personal effects as you step down.”
// Where to now? You have a few more days to post your favorite memories in the Mystery Train guild. I will record some favorites as I update the wiki page for The Mystery Train (a.k.a. our handy brochure). I hope the wiki isn’t going anywhere for now.
