The Conquistadorks is a party on Habitica open to all levels. As self-identified "dorks" (affectionately used to describe members), the aim of the party is to provide a safe and welcoming space for all to progress towards their goals.
The founder and current party leader is TXRose (she/her).
The Boring Stuff[]
Below are the rules and policies governing The Conquistadorks.
The Mallet of Loving Correction[]
Taken from author John Scalzi's moderating policy of the same name, this is the Conquistadork equivalent of "swinging the banhammer," or giving a warning/kicking someone from the party.
Dorks will be gently tapped with the Mallet (given a warning) for:
- Starting a quest out of order (see Quests policy)
- Doing constant, high damage to the party during quests (see Quests policy)
- Not checking into Habitica for 1-2 weeks straight (depending on how often the party leader feels like checking member activity - see Inactive Player Policy)
- Other minor infractions, at the discretion of the party leader
Dorks will be hit with the Mallet (kicked) for:
- Ignoring previous "taps" of the Mallet
- Not checking into Habitica for at least a month straight (see Inactive Player Policy)
- Spam
- Bullying or harassment
- Inappropriate/weird/creepy DMs
Quests[]
The party has a quest queue to keep everything organized. Anyone can join the quest queue by tagging the party leader and asking. The queue will be posted at the end of every quest & anytime someone requests to join the queue.
Quest Rules
- The quest leader or party leader reserves the right to start quests after 24 hours.
- If the next person in the quest queue doesn't start their quest within 18 hours, the next person in line can start their quest.
- The party leader will cancel quests started out of order.
- Dorks are encouraged to "decline" a quest if they can't participate rather than not responding at all.
- Those doing constant, high damage to the party will be asked to check into the Inn. Further damage will result in being hit with the Mallet of Loving Correction.
Inactive Member Policy[]
As a party that values both regular use of Habitica and being a supportive space for all, this policy is designed to give people every opportunity to stay involved. A conquistadork will never be hit with the Mallet of Loving Correction without the party leader reaching out first to check on them.
This policy was initially voted on by the party in May 2022 and updated July 2022. Dorks who disagree with the policy and/or have other suggestions are welcome to share.
Our policy:
- Players will be hit with the Mallet if they haven't checked into the app for one consecutive month
- Upon removal, the player will immediately receive an invite to rejoin the party. They are welcome back anytime, no questions asked.

Conquistadork of the Month[]
Conquistadork of the Month (or COTM for short) is the name of the party's monthly accountability challenge. Participants pick one thing they'd most like to improve on during the month, and then do that thing for at least half of the month. A winner is selected at random from those who successfully conquer the challenge to receive gems and the coveted title of Conquistadork of the Month.

Conquistadork of the Year[]
Coming to the party at the end of 2022, this challenge ups the difficulty of the regular monthly challenges in exchange for a significant gem reward. The challenge will help dorks get some of the harder-to-obtain Habitica achievements and push them to maintain their goals during the holiday season.

Interactive Activities[]
The party leader will occasionally send out interactive polls and activities to keep dorks engaged and having fun. Currently, the party is participating in an interactive "Where are you from?" map.
