Introduction[]
Pixel Power is a guild for pixel artists of all levels, beginners and experts alike. We encourage people of all abilities to try their hand at pixel art — either still or animated — and possibly even show the guild their creations! We run challenges so that you can get out of your comfort zone and get in some practice!
Though we both focus on pixel art, we are separate from the Pixels In Progress (Aspiring Artisans) guild, which focuses on creating pixel art for use in Habitica. If you are an Artisan, we kindly request to keep your official claims to PiP, so that upcoming features are not spoiled for Habiticans in Pixel Power. If you are interested in creating artwork for use in Habitica but don't know where to get started, check out the wiki page on Guidance for Artisans.

- Follow the Community Guidelines when participating in the Pixel Power guild.
- Please use Markdown Format to share your links and artwork.
- Be considerate, ESPECIALLY when providing feedback.
- PM the guild Leader @Grothe if you need extra time (1-5 days) to complete challenges.
- Add an EPILEPSY WARNING to posts containing hyperlinks to brightly flashing or color-changing animations/gifs - do NOT post the image/gif directly in the chat!
- Don’t edit someone’s artwork to provide feedback unless they permit it.
- All Artisans (Habitica’s Volunteer Pixel Artists) should keep posts about official claims to the Pixels In Progress guild, so as not to reveal spoilers to Pixel Power guild members.

Challenges[]
There are four types of regular challenges in Pixel Power: Bi-Monthly Beginner and Intermediate challenges (create something related to the challenge theme—these challenges last for two months), Monthly Palette challenges (use the colours provided to create some pixel art—these challenges last for a month) and Weekly challenges (create something related to the challenge theme—these challenges last for a week). Though these are the main types of reoccurring challenges, on occasion, other challenges have been posted that fall outside of these categories.

Permanent challenges[]
The challenges below are all part of Pixel Power's training challenge series. They are designed to gradually introduce users to the world of pixel art and to help them become active members of the guild. Each time a user completes a challenge, they are awarded a rank badge for their profile, which they can display to other users. As these are permanent challenges, they do not have an end date and there will be no winner. The challenges are as follows:

Collaborations between guilds and projects[]
Many guilds would often like a pixel art banner to match Habitica's pixel art aesthetic, however, they may not have many pixel artists in their guild that are able to create one. The artists of Pixel Power have often been able to help with this, with the offer of a few gems as a reward for their efforts.
If you are a guild leader that would like a pixel art banner for your guild, you are more than welcome to create a post in Pixel Power! However, as our chat moves rather fast (meaning that your message would get buried quickly), it is often a good idea to create a challenge in our guild for the artists to find much easier. If you have already created a challenge in your guild, private message Grothe with a link to your challenge and guild so that she can add them to Pixel Power's description in our Ongoing Collaborations section.

The collaborations listed here have ended. They have been divided into sections based on when they took place to make it easier to navigate.
2019[]
- The Mythical Creatures of All Sorts guild were looking for pixel artwork of a Hellhound for a guild boss event. Aspiring Advocate ran a challenge for the Pixel Power artists. Vikte's awesome artwork was chosen and used as the guild boss until it was defeated.
- HorizonM was looking for a few pixel art items for use in their Habitica Pomodoro SiteKeeper extension. They ran a challenge for what they required. Both gawrone and Aspiring Advocate created the pixel art that was needed for the extension.
- The ADHDers guild were looking for a new guild banner. Nakonana ran a challenge open to anyone, pixel artists included. jjgame83's artwork was chosen to be used in the guild from the start of October 2019, which also happened to be the start of ADHD awareness month.
2020[]
- The Mystery Train guild visited Pixel Power for a few days in March of 2020. A template challenge was run for the duration of the visit to introduce a few of our visitors to pixel art.
- The Inspiration Station guild were looking for some new guild artwork. SilentWitness ran a challenge open to pixel artists of any level. Multiple artworks were chosen to be used in the guild from the start of August 2020. You can see all entries for this challenge at The Keep:Inspiration ☀️ Station.
- The Mythical Creatures of All Sorts guild were looking for pixel artwork of a Python for a guild boss event. Aspiring Advocate ran a challenge for the Pixel Power artists. AinFach's artwork was chosen as the winner.
- The Makri's Monthly Challenges guild were looking for some new guild artwork. Makri ran a challenge open to pixel artists of any level. Multiple artworks were chosen to be used in the guild from the start of September 2020. You can see all entries for this challenge displayed in the guild.
- The September/October 2020 intermediate challenge theme was emergency services. Challenge owner Pixel Storm suggested that participants share their artwork for this challenge in the Lights and Sirens Guild to let the amazing first responders there know how appreciated they are. This was not a banner challenge, just a sharing of artwork with awesome people.
- Leader of the Inspiration Station guild, @RedMyst, ran a challenge looking for some new artwork to celebrate the guild reaching 1000 members. Multiple artworks were chosen to be used in the guild from mid November 2020. You can see all entries for this challenge at The Keep:Inspiration ☀️ Station.
2021[]
- The Everyday Holidays Guild were looking for some artwork for guild participants to use on their profile. LindyBlues ran a challenge for a guild Party Animal badge. jjgame83, player1ari and SuperSaraA's artworks were chosen as winning pieces. Pandawalker, rutituti and Kodey also recieved runner's up prizes.
