This page lists all guilds that have inactive leaders, as of the date listed below. A leader is considered inactive when they have not logged in to Habitica (website or app) for at least six months. The players from the Pirate Cove are assessing these guilds to see what should be done with them. The options are:

  • Ask in guild chat if the guild members would like to select a new leader. This should be the option chosen in most cases.
  • Recommend to Alys that the guild be privatised - e.g., if the guild has not had any discussion for a long time. In most cases, Alys will probably prefer that the first option be chosen instead, because the process of choosing a new leader might bring a guild back to life.
  • Recommend to Alys that the guild be deleted. This might be appropriate if the guild is extremely inactive - e.g., if there have hardly been any chat messages since it was created.

Before approaching a guild, it is important that you get permission first from the Pirate Cove. This is to ensure that no other actions regarding that guild have occurred yet and that you are aware of any history or special circumstances regarding the guild.

Once permission has been received, a suggested message to the guild can be:

Ahoy! The current leader of this Guild has gone missing for at least six months. We, the Pirate Cove, have noticed this and would like to help to keep this Guild running smoothly by instating a new leader. If you feel like you would do a good job managing this Guild — that you would be committed, run challenges, keep the chat going, and improve the guild — please speak up! Everyone who applies will be considered by the admins. You can learn more about the Pirates of the Pirate Cove and what we do [here](http://habitica.wikia.com/wiki/The_Keep:Pirate_Cove/FAQ).

This has the following elements:

  • Plain English. We are all pirates! but the landlubbers sometime have trouble understanding us
  • Explains who we are and what we do.
  • Explains that approval will be required by Habitica's Admins/Moderators. It not just up to you, you're just facilitating the change.
  • A member can't just come in and claim the guild. They need to show they've been productive member of the guild before.

It is important during the hail that:

  • not state in the guild that is slow or is targeted for last rites deletion as this can stop a crew being active. If a guild is to be approved for last rites, this should be done by the Captains or Admirals to avoid the ships sailing into the wrong wind.
  • not to automatically decline or accept any volunteers until confirmation from the Admiral/Captain. Stating this too early in chat may stop other members putting themselves forward. The best option is to acknowledge while asking for any other volunteers.
  • At least wait 7 to 14 days before reporting back to the cove to ensure all crew has had an opportunity to respond. (14 days particular for no response to hails) Less 7 days is only warranted if it is a fast moving guild and the hail is likely to fall off the chat cliff.

Once a new captain has been elected, it is a good idea to inform them of the resources they can use to rustle up their crew. A suggested post can be:

WE set up polls and challenges, or at least I am trying and currently planning since this guild is relatively new and in it's early stages. Those challenges are not mandatory, but if you are interested in let's say learning a new skill or enhancing your possibilities it can be a huge boost of motivation.

Also, I'll probably set up a daily that repeats every week or so to *share your progress with the guild*. Creative work is meant to be seen, what would be the point of creating a masterpiece if you just throw it away after finishing? Or just stop at the planning stage? Not so much. Let us see our projects grow, together!

@Alys, @2 tanners, I've just joined the Writers of Ideas: Speculative Fiction Authors guild. I'm trying to get back into the habit of writing fiction, so I'll keep an eye on whether @Chaconne continues to post and whether they close the challenges as promised at the end of May. I'll report back in 5 or 6 week's time to let you know how the guild is doing. The two new challenges have certainly stimulated some conversation

With Internet Marketing Tavern I would recommend monitoring the guild for at least another 10-14 days (as it is a slow moving guild) and then consider the options listed below and approach the leadership on what option you think is best.

+ [wa1ter](UID: 0acf1c01-5e3d-42af-a24f-8902564bf5f0 Born 6 Nov 2015) has asked to be leader of [Internet Marketing Tavern](https://habitica.com/groups/guild/102453dc-942e-46cf-8652-1b67f70c0be3) and via PM [P.A.V.C](https://habitica.com/groups/guild/d21448da-ee74-48e6-bfb1-ec4d32d30df7) (BOT CAPTURED GUILD). This player has not posted in either guild prior and has appeared to only recently come back to Habitica. Both these guilds have not been able to find a leader for a while, so while I'm happy that a leader is found I would like to avoid the issue that we had with [Dar al-Arqam](https://habitica.com/groups/guild/6c6f4df6-8bc2-4a4c-a5a1-d4f1ef447989), where the leader was made guild leader and then disappears.

For Internet Marketing Tavern and P.A.V.C, I too would like to avoid issues with a new leader disappearing, so I'd rather not make wa1ter (0acf1c01-5e3d-42af-a24f-8902564bf5f0) leader. I'll let you proceed with these as you see fit (or you can ask other Pirates to proceed) and then if you make any decision for wa1ter or for anyone else, I'll stand by what you decide.

Tavern Hailed 2017-08-15 then rehaild 2017-10-17. This guild has become inactive since the chatter of last month (The previous candidate was rejected due to lack of previous activity in the guild). Only 19 Active members in the last week from 86 in total. Though there is some spordatic chat, this guild appears to be taking on water.

For the scurvy blighters known as [Internet Marketing Tavern](https://habitica.com/groups/guild/102453dc-942e-46cf-8652-1b67f70c0be3) first hailed 8 months ago, @KarisHope has recently been active there although has not volunteered. I hesitantly recommend (Wise Counsel Required) that they also be made captain there on a very laissez-faire basis, asking them only to see if they can stimulate the guild back to life. Those older members who claimed they wanted it to keep going have not posted in the last 80 days. While @KarisHope is trying hard, I don't want to overload them. FYI, @KarisHope has also appeared on the ship [Graphic Design](https://habitica.com/groups/guild/182d78ab-1998-4dd6-abf4-481684d23027) which is also in my sights.

I have checked with @Unaw who has been helping with the translations and is also an active member of the both guilds and has confirm the request as well as think this is a good idea. Ok to go ahead and ask to MERGE and declare last rites?

Weibo (微博) and Habitica tieba 百度habitica吧　Chinese 中文 - My current feeling is that I'd prefer to not delete those guilds, even if they have little traffic. They're both for popular Chinese social media platforms and every so often we see a surge of new users in the Tavern from one of those platforms. It's convenient to have those guilds waiting so that we can direct the new players to them (although of course they're also welcome to keep posting in the Tavern). Although since the guild members themselves have suggested merging, maybe we should. I'll check with the other mods.

Alys 25 September 2017 For Weibo (微博), Habitica tieba 百度habitica吧　Chinese 中文, and The Chinese Users 華語使用者: The mods and staff have decided that they should not be merged. Weibo and Tieba are social media platforms, so suggesting that their guilds be merged would be like suggesting that an imgur and reddit guild be merged - possibly something that some members would not want. There might also be regional differences between the cultures predominant in each guild, or language / dialect differences. The language barrier for the mods and staff makes it impossible for us to judge that carefully and so we would rather let all three guilds continue than risk upsetting some members. All three guilds are active to at least some extent, so it doesn't feel inappropriate to let them all keep existing. I understand that Unaw has recommended that they be merged, and we're grateful for their feedback and their efforts to assist all three communities, but we still think it's best that we don't intervene since we don't have our own direct, accurate understanding of the guilds. If after several months one or more of the guilds has become completely inactive, we might then consider shutting it down, but if that happens, we want it to be solely because the guild members have lost interest or moved on of their own accord.

And one I need to explain in detail: The Chinese guilds tieba and Weibo is as active as it was (hailed 10 days ago). Though the hail has some minor acknowledgements, there has been no response to the hail. There was even one response in the Weibo guild which said "this guild's leader has already gone missing for 6 months but that's still okay."

As far as I am concerned, they originally wanted a merger into the Chinese Users guild but the mods didn't want that (due to them being quite important stopping points and the fact that Chinese users make up a substantial user base of Habitica). This means that we likely need to find leaders for these guilds. The linguists 青木 and Unaw (UserIDs 4027fc39-7112-4d0e-b5a3-697dd20c08d6 and a6b1fc1f-abd8-416b-b5f0-bda8fa5a1bac respectively) seem to be good candidates. However, Unaw has refused leadership of the Chinese Users guild when it was hailed. Should I try 青木 or Unaw (by PM)? Failing that, I could try S.W.4 (User ID:16c4eabd-af1f-4f84-b175-99a5717dd293) who is the leader of the Chinese users Guild.

@MistressThinker I am wondering if theTieba and Wiebo guilds are worth keeping if they are that slow. I acknowledge the Powers that be desire they have these guilds as stepping stones for new players, however if they are very bare maybe it better we declare last rites and ask S.W.4 to change the summary of the Chinese Guild with the terms Tieba and Wiebo? There nothing worst than a new player find "the right guild" to only find it dead in the water. What is your evaluation of these two guilds ? Are they really that useful for new Chinese speaking players?

@cTheDragons: As a socialite, I generally direct new Chinese players to the [Chinese Users guild] anyways (unless they specifically say that they are from one of these platforms which I have yet to see in the Tavern) especially if they ask if there are any Chinese players in Habitica. Cultural differences in China tend to be along the urban/rural divide such that rural Chinese will have a cultural shock when they come into the cities. I only know that much.

Users are still attempting party requests and there appears to still be new users appearing in these guilds every now and then, and with users being invited into parties from there as well. As a note, [Weibo] is close to twitter and [Tieba] doesn't really have much of a western equivalent (though you could argue it's similar to Reddit but they are technically a bulletin board). They seem pretty similar in intent and some players duplicate their party recruiting between all three of these guilds.

That being said, the Chinese users guild seems to be the main guild for Chinese players and it is a really big guild, and also appears to be a more or less the main stopping point for all Chinese players. Although the other two tends to be slow-moving and active. Are they really useful? My answer to that is "maybe." This is because while newbie question are answered in these two guilds, they tend to be answered faster in the main guild (The Chinese users) so I can see the benefits of a merge if it needs be. But then again, I can see that the mods do have a point (all three guilds have a lot of party requests and recruitment messages though).

So my conclusion is that I may need to speak to S.W.4 to see what they think as they are an active member of both these guilds in question. Should I PM S.W.4?

Update: I have PMed S.W.4 regarding the Chinese guilds, and asked if they are willing to lead and also about what they think is the best. They have said that it is best if we can keep the [Weibo] and [Tieba] guilds as they still have many members. However, they admit that if they take on both these guilds they said that they wouldn't have much time to organise challenges for them all. They have also said that merging is also a good possibility.

In this case, I think that we should attempt to find leaders for these two guilds and if we can't we may need to consider a merger. However, they do admit that it is their personal opinion and it is not representative of the views of the whole Chinese community. So I will continue the attempt to find leaders. Since I can't really find obvious leaders due to the fact that these guilds are dominated by party requests and recruitment, [Chinese User's guild] has a list of party leaders so I can also take these into consideration. If I shall proceed to finding new leaders, then I could start with 青木(UserID: 4027fc39-7112-4d0e-b5a3-697dd20c08d6), asking if they are willing to be leaders? What do you all think?

@cTheDragons @MistressThinker If I remember correctly the Weibo and Tieba guilds were created after Habitica a was featured on those sites resulting in a huge influx of new members. Like the Reddit guild, these guilds for a specific site often die down after the initial enthusiasm wears off. They were kept around in case Habit ice was featured again, but I take your point about new members ending up in a dead guild. On the other hand, would the main Chinese guild want a load of new players bursting in with hundreds of, "I'm from Weibo!" type posts?

I'd like the Weibo and Tieba guilds to remain unmerged, even though they have little traffic. If we get another surge of users from one of those platforms, we can direct them there. It might look a bit dead to the first few users but it will pick up quickly. As Dewines suggests, the main Chinese guild probably wouldn't want a log of "I'm from Weibo!" posts.

My judgement is that merging is an absolute last resort so I do want to find a leader, especially as the Chinese user base is fairly large in Habitica. Also, I probably want to wait 7 days before I proceed to PM someone else (if that's how I should proceed).

I could try Unaw(User ID:a6b1fc1f-abd8-416b-b5f0-bda8fa5a1bac) but the problem is that I have read the history and they have previously declined a leadership position. Another one I can try is Linguistic Scribe dfpy737(User ID:2cccfaad-e1ad-4c89-ab89-81e6f6616bf5). Who should I proceed to? (and let me know on their English, as I'd much rather send the PM in Chinese than for them to Google or more likely Baidu translate my message).

Update on the Chinese guilds: Unaw has posted in the guilds about their willingness to lead. Since they are quite important guilds, should I wait or recommend? In the Weibo guild, the translation of the message is "I volunteer to be the guild leader." In the Tieba guild, they said "Hi, I volunteer to be the guild leader. [I will] help newbies understand Habitica. [We will] find the joy of Habitica together" You may ask another linguist if you do not trust my translations of their message but it should be fairly accurate.

[The Miracle Morning Guild] has not nominated a new leader but seems to be slow rather than dead. I suggest that either we leave this one under watch and rehail later, or outright offer the no-active-leader option. They have a challenge structure built around the Morning Miracle book and mainly discuss progress against the challenge objectives. Very niche, but can't see a reason to sink it at the moment.

Regarding Miracle Morning Guild, the chat in there is very very slow. I'm not sure that the one challenge is enough to support a guild as other similar challenges must surely exist in the more general "be more productive" guilds like STAG. It could just be a case of moving the challenge elsewhere and closing the Miracle Morning Guild. I advise progressing to Last Rites and then we'll see whether that galvanizes anyone into action.

@Dewines I fully agree with Last Rites for [Miracle Morning Guild]. With respect, I recommend against closing or moving the challenge. It is meant to be an eternal challenge based on the referenced text - it would have no meaning ~~on another ship~~ in another guild. If admiralty decides that sinking is in order, that is the time to close the challenge. I am not - completely - convinced that the ship is a ghost ship.

The ship is not like the STAGs - it is about maintaining a clear strategy to improve life gradually over the long term, not meeting immediate short term goals.

@2 tanners @Dewines : Regarding the [The Miracle Morning life-SAVERS]challenge, I agree that in its current form the challenge wouldn't make sense in another guild, but it seems to me to be an excellent challenge and could be adapted for use elsewhere by changing it to reference the official website and maybe also an appropriate written summary from another site. If the [MM guild] is closed I volunteer to make a copy of the challenge if no one else wants to. Perhaps it could be hosted in the Library.

I agree that Last Rights for that guild is appropriate now.

I have checked with @Unaw who has been helping with the translations and is also an active member of the both guilds and has confirm the request as well as think this is a good idea. Ok to go ahead and ask to MERGE and declare last rites?

Weibo (微博) and Habitica tieba 百度habitica吧　Chinese 中文 - My current feeling is that I'd prefer to not delete those guilds, even if they have little traffic. They're both for popular Chinese social media platforms and every so often we see a surge of new users in the Tavern from one of those platforms. It's convenient to have those guilds waiting so that we can direct the new players to them (although of course they're also welcome to keep posting in the Tavern). Although since the guild members themselves have suggested merging, maybe we should. I'll check with the other mods.


Alys 25 September 2017 For Weibo (微博), Habitica tieba 百度habitica吧　Chinese 中文, and The Chinese Users 華語使用者: The mods and staff have decided that they should not be merged. Weibo and Tieba are social media platforms, so suggesting that their guilds be merged would be like suggesting that an imgur and reddit guild be merged - possibly something that some members would not want. There might also be regional differences between the cultures predominant in each guild, or language / dialect differences. The language barrier for the mods and staff makes it impossible for us to judge that carefully and so we would rather let all three guilds continue than risk upsetting some members. All three guilds are active to at least some extent, so it doesn't feel inappropriate to let them all keep existing. I understand that Unaw has recommended that they be merged, and we're grateful for their feedback and their efforts to assist all three communities, but we still think it's best that we don't intervene since we don't have our own direct, accurate understanding of the guilds. If after several months one or more of the guilds has become completely inactive, we might then consider shutting it down, but if that happens, we want it to be solely because the guild members have lost interest or moved on of their own accord.

And one I need to explain in detail: The Chinese guilds tieba and Weibo is as active as it was (hailed 10 days ago). Though the hail has some minor acknowledgements, there has been no response to the hail. There was even one response in the Weibo guild which said "this guild's leader has already gone missing for 6 months but that's still okay."

As far as I am concerned, they originally wanted a merger into the Chinese Users guild but the mods didn't want that (due to them being quite important stopping points and the fact that Chinese users make up a substantial user base of Habitica). This means that we likely need to find leaders for these guilds. The linguists 青木 and Unaw (UserIDs 4027fc39-7112-4d0e-b5a3-697dd20c08d6 and a6b1fc1f-abd8-416b-b5f0-bda8fa5a1bac respectively) seem to be good candidates. However, Unaw has refused leadership of the Chinese Users guild when it was hailed. Should I try 青木 or Unaw (by PM)? Failing that, I could try S.W.4 (User ID:16c4eabd-af1f-4f84-b175-99a5717dd293) who is the leader of the Chinese users Guild.

@MistressThinker I am wondering if theTieba and Wiebo guilds are worth keeping if they are that slow. I acknowledge the Powers that be desire they have these guilds as stepping stones for new players, however if they are very bare maybe it better we declare last rites and ask S.W.4 to change the summary of the Chinese Guild with the terms Tieba and Wiebo? There nothing worst than a new player find "the right guild" to only find it dead in the water. What is your evaluation of these two guilds ? Are they really that useful for new Chinese speaking players?

@cTheDragons: As a socialite, I generally direct new Chinese players to the [Chinese Users guild] anyways (unless they specifically say that they are from one of these platforms which I have yet to see in the Tavern) especially if they ask if there are any Chinese players in Habitica. Cultural differences in China tend to be along the urban/rural divide such that rural Chinese will have a cultural shock when they come into the cities. I only know that much.

Users are still attempting party requests and there appears to still be new users appearing in these guilds every now and then, and with users being invited into parties from there as well. As a note, [Weibo] is close to twitter and [Tieba] doesn't really have much of a western equivalent (though you could argue it's similar to Reddit but they are technically a bulletin board). They seem pretty similar in intent and some players duplicate their party recruiting between all three of these guilds.

That being said, the Chinese users guild seems to be the main guild for Chinese players and it is a really big guild, and also appears to be a more or less the main stopping point for all Chinese players. Although the other two tends to be slow-moving and active. Are they really useful? My answer to that is "maybe." This is because while newbie question are answered in these two guilds, they tend to be answered faster in the main guild (The Chinese users) so I can see the benefits of a merge if it needs be. But then again, I can see that the mods do have a point (all three guilds have a lot of party requests and recruitment messages though).

So my conclusion is that I may need to speak to S.W.4 to see what they think as they are an active member of both these guilds in question. Should I PM S.W.4?

Update: I have PMed S.W.4 regarding the Chinese guilds, and asked if they are willing to lead and also about what they think is the best. They have said that it is best if we can keep the [Weibo] and [Tieba] guilds as they still have many members. However, they admit that if they take on both these guilds they said that they wouldn't have much time to organise challenges for them all. They have also said that merging is also a good possibility.

In this case, I think that we should attempt to find leaders for these two guilds and if we can't we may need to consider a merger. However, they do admit that it is their personal opinion and it is not representative of the views of the whole Chinese community. So I will continue the attempt to find leaders. Since I can't really find obvious leaders due to the fact that these guilds are dominated by party requests and recruitment, [Chinese User's guild] has a list of party leaders so I can also take these into consideration. If I shall proceed to finding new leaders, then I could start with 青木(UserID: 4027fc39-7112-4d0e-b5a3-697dd20c08d6), asking if they are willing to be leaders? What do you all think?

@cTheDragons @MistressThinker If I remember correctly the Weibo and Tieba guilds were created after Habitica a was featured on those sites resulting in a huge influx of new members. Like the Reddit guild, these guilds for a specific site often die down after the initial enthusiasm wears off. They were kept around in case Habit ice was featured again, but I take your point about new members ending up in a dead guild. On the other hand, would the main Chinese guild want a load of new players bursting in with hundreds of, "I'm from Weibo!" type posts?

I'd like the Weibo and Tieba guilds to remain unmerged, even though they have little traffic. If we get another surge of users from one of those platforms, we can direct them there. It might look a bit dead to the first few users but it will pick up quickly. As Dewines suggests, the main Chinese guild probably wouldn't want a log of "I'm from Weibo!" posts.

My judgement is that merging is an absolute last resort so I do want to find a leader, especially as the Chinese user base is fairly large in Habitica. Also, I probably want to wait 7 days before I proceed to PM someone else (if that's how I should proceed).

I could try Unaw(User ID:a6b1fc1f-abd8-416b-b5f0-bda8fa5a1bac) but the problem is that I have read the history and they have previously declined a leadership position. Another one I can try is Linguistic Scribe dfpy737(User ID:2cccfaad-e1ad-4c89-ab89-81e6f6616bf5). Who should I proceed to? (and let me know on their English, as I'd much rather send the PM in Chinese than for them to Google or more likely Baidu translate my message).

Update on the Chinese guilds: Unaw has posted in the guilds about their willingness to lead. Since they are quite important guilds, should I wait or recommend? In the Weibo guild, the translation of the message is "I volunteer to be the guild leader." In the Tieba guild, they said "Hi, I volunteer to be the guild leader. [I will] help newbies understand Habitica. [We will] find the joy of Habitica together" You may ask another linguist if you do not trust my translations of their message but it should be fairly accurate.

Hailed 20 December 2017, was put on hold until end of January. No volunteers in response to hail and one new post. Last chat September 29, 2017. Of 63 members, 19 are at the inn, only 15 active in the last month. If there were more active Habiticans, I would suggest another hail, but it would not reach many members. Try it anyhow? Otherwise, I recommend Last Rites, unless someone can think of a way to revive the guild.

@2 tanners I thought about suggesting a merge, then thought it might be like suggesting a merge of U.S. East and West Coast guilds. The very idea! Any Aussies (ahem, @cTheDragons) or Kiwis care to weigh in?

@Lindsey: You will be looking into some cultural differences, and honestly, there are some friendly rivalry between the two countries but in the end, we Aussies and Kiwis do get on pretty well (another Aussie pirate speaking). I would want some kiwis to speak but I am not sure if they really will. I think @Alys is Australian too and that may be a final determiner here.

@cTheDragons The Aussie captain is trying to figure out an inclusive name based on the ANZAC / ANZUS heritage (and not the Bledisloe Cup). They'll be fine to amend the summary as well. HOWEVER, there is a problem. In the chat over a year ago you and Alys appointed ChaosCalix (User ID:1da08c1c-ea0b-4f3d-a254-3c7659cb7480, DOB 09/02/2016) to replace @simon Brownsea. ChaosCalix last posted in December 2016 (over a year ago) promising challenges etc which don't seem to have eventuated. ChaosCalix last checked in on 1/1/2018. However, the listed leader is RaisedByCats(User ID:01f9477e-e9e8-47ef-9605-df41f38569ed, DOB 06/08/2014). Not sure where they came from, posted once 3 years ago. Unless ChaosCalix left the guild and it simply descended on RaisedByCats.

Yoda (User ID:d2b76792-f49e-4d4d-9044-7f7ef1cd2b45) has offered to lead [The Optimists!](https://habitica.com/groups/guild/4f11eb55-fe44-4805-8a30-9009fd7d7979). They are quite new to the guild. Another currently active member, indigosunfire (User ID:c8666b54-f7c4-4702-a76d-a927d3fa6c23), has been in the guild much longer but did not volunteer.

[Optimists guild](https://habitica.com/groups/guild/4f11eb55-fe44-4805-8a30-9009fd7d7979), I agree that @indigosunfire would probably be a better leader because they have been a regular poster in the guild for at least 9 months and @Yoda is quite new to Habitica (joined Sept 17) and only posted in the guild after your hail. Can we encourage @indigosunfire to volunteer? Otherwise perhaps wait a little while to see if @Yoda does stick around.

It appears we have not formally declined @Yoda (User ID:d2b76792-f49e-4d4d-9044-7f7ef1cd2b45) response. It was decided to keep monitoring for now. Should we post:

  • Thank you for offering to take on the leadership of the guild. For your information we usually prefer the guild leader to be a long-standing active member of the guild. When evaluating your request the Habitica Admin has noticed you not posted in this guild before the hail. In light of this, the Habitica Admin has decided to not appoint a new leader right now. That being said, we are at Pirate Cove have put the deletion of this guild on hold for now and will be back in a few months asking for a leader again. As stated before feel free to start doing leadership things for now and if the guild is doing well, it should then be easier to choose a new leader.*

@2 tanners: My opinion in the matter of this guild may not really matter since I am really a low level pirate, but I can say that this guild is based on a site that doesn't currently exist right now (as I have looked carefully in the chats of this guild). There was one member who did direct the members to the financial discipline guild and they seem strikingly similar in purpose and goals. So maybe last rites and ask remaining members to go into the financial discipline guild? (probably need to wait for @Alys or @cTheDragons for any responses though).

Weekly programming challenges Hailed 12 Mar with one like and 3 chat messages after hail. However the ship has been taking lot of water even before it leader went missing. It appears this ship requires an active captain willing to plot out the course with it crew using challenges. Though many new crew do find it way to the ship it is rudderless. There are a number of duplicate guilds which are:

on the eleventh hour there has been a burst of activity in the guild. @WolfyWolf (User Id: 756ef153-8e05-4239-873a-fd0a292977d2 Born: 2018-02-03 posted after hail) very new to the guild has volunteered. Without prompt they have started putting the crew through exercises ~~challenges~~ and generated talk. His suggestion for Captaincy is supported by one other player. Wait and see for two - three months and they make a decision?

MistressThinker: Two volunteers for leader in this guild: Brahn (User ID:4c65a96d-7f8d-46ec-ba99-56b6d87a2d44) and Ryzen (User ID:535041f0-a242-4912-a78d-0000658a0304). Brahn was the original volunteer and has only posted once in the guild. Ryzen has not posted before the hail as their account didn't even exist before the hail. However, Ryzen has been supported by other members in the guild chat and the candidate has also posted ideas regarding the guild. My concern is that they are very new, and only created their account 5 days ago. Another potential candidate that hasn't volunteered is LucidBrot (User ID:3ff0c453-05ee-4a19-b5bc-0075ef7a5dd1) who has been using Habitica for 5 years and has posted many times before the hail.

This leaves the guild into the hands of Brahn (User ID:4c65a96d-7f8d-46ec-ba99-56b6d87a2d44) or Ryzen (User ID:535041f0-a242-4912-a78d-0000658a0304). Brahn is older but Ryzen appears to more the guild leader type. But Ryzen is a very new account so I am very concerned about this situation that I would recommend watching just to be sure.

I would like to comment that for Oneironauts that it seems to me that monitoring them may be a better idea rather than giving anyone leadership as of yet. Asian Efficiency Rituals: Hailed April 8. Though someone offered to lead the guild, they had not posted in the last 3 years and the admins therefore recommended encouraging leadership activities without actually transferring ownership. However, the last chat prior to my hail was in March 2017 (yes, 2017!) and only 19 members were active in the last month. Any new leader would have a steep uphill climb to revive this guild. Recommend Last Rites.

@Dewines regarding your post re leaders not quite matching, I actually have a new example.

For [Own your face, Love your body](https://habitica.com/groups/guild/92598202-0700-424f-bdb1-44c6703dbc48) @Nevtheraven (UserId: eafb42f0-da27-425a-8dba-4a02b8e9ee30 Born: 2016-07-19) has asked to become leader of the guild. They have not post at all in the guild for the last 2 years. It should be noted the previous person volunteered @N3ls0n (H3lls0n) (UserId: ce4f35fc-b728-469b-bd53-5eb23d145d03) has chatted in January. (They may of noticed the leadership request either as they have not logged on in the last 3 days).


What do you suggest? Should we be considering @Nevtheraven? If so ask if anyone else is interested and wait 7 days for @N3ls0n is interested?

Or just ask @Nevtheraven to start doing leadership things now with the guild?

There is no response to hail over 14 days ago. Also there was no response in Commonwealth for a translator for this guild. There are 28 Users out of 86 active in the last month. However last responsive chat was in August 2017 which may be how inactive / hard to find a party. Many of the other posts are comments how how dead the guild is and 1 searching for a party. Search the Hall of Patrons for those who gain a tier in translating Czech?

I searched the hall of patrons for a linguist who translated in Czek, however all linguist have not logged in over a month. (Most recent late January). Examining the guild there is 21 players who have logged in the last week. (Including pirates and bots). However no-one responded to a new players hello in the guild. Posted 7 days ago. This is a concern as it appears the new player has stopped playing due to the lack of activity. Recommendations?

For České a Slovenské království, I think we should let it keep existing. If a player leaves because the guild has no posts, they might also leave because there is no guild for their language, so we might not gain any benefit from removing the guild. We can hope that it will become more lively in future.

Re České a Slovenské království : My personal opinion that a dead guild is more likely a negative experience for players that will stop them playing than finding no guild.

One of the reasons I joined Pirate Cove was because I was seeing a number of negative reports from players who were new joining guilds and find them "dead" and getting rather frustrated by it. I think players find it easier to start something a fresh then trying to revive a dead guild. Often a sense of ownership helps.

That being said if you wish to leave the guild I can post a non-monitoring message in the guild and revisit in the next list.

@cTheDragons Perhaps with dead guilds that we don't want to delete due to them being the only one for a particular language or nationality, we could make sure there is a post in the guild saying that we're looking for a new leader? Regarding people making duplicates when a similar guild already exists, I had a look at the YouTube guilds yesterday because I have a project that involves setting up a YouTube channel, which is something I've never done before. I put "YouTube" into the guild search and (not counting Francophone YouTube) I found 5 guilds. Two of them were distinctive, but the other 3 seemed to have the same remit. However, we can't really blame the guild leaders for creating duplicates because the search actually brought up 38 guilds, most of which just happen to mention "YouTube" somewhere in the description. Big guilds like Life Hackers, Procrastinators, ADHDers dominate the list and the new guilds devoted to YouTube are right down at the bottom. This might be part of the new people creating duplicate guilds problem. @Alys and the devs are now aware and are looking into improving the search facility to avoid this problem.

My only concern is it unlikely to achieve. If a new player applies we will be stating we need to wait a month or two to see if you stay active and promoting the guild. Often it takes 2 to have a conversation....

@cTheDragons, you're right in saying that we'd normally require someone to have been in Habitica for a while, but that's when we're considering a new leader for a reasonably active guild with active participants who have been in the guild for some time. Would it be worth taking a chance on a new person in the case of a more or less dead guild? Otherwise they may just go and create their own guild, which even as a new user, they're perfectly entitled to do.

Admiral @Dewines & @Alys I have posted in [Ceske a Slovenske kralovstvi] that I have stopped monitoring the guild.

Regarding your comments Admiral @Dewines re ignoring the age of player, I suspect making a new player is not a great a solution as we have found, particular with players less than 2 months it unlikely to be able to revive a guild due to their inexperience and often stop playing within a month becoming leader. (And show examples from previous guilds where we have done this). (I think over 2 months it is worth to take a risk, though if possible it worth waiting till they are at least 4 months or more). However these are my thoughts. Happy to review again for the next list.

Wise Counsel Requested Over in Barefooters, Eriliu (UID: 551fda53-bcf7-49f7-ab80-32961e6be200) has applied to takeover as leader. They don't seem to have been active before hail, but a more pressing concern for me is that they are suggesting a broadening of the scope of the guild to include "other ways of exposing oneself to the elements besides barefooting" and asked if us Pirates would agree to this. In this particular case, FeelFree (UID: 9979d1b1-85f0-43d0-bcda-280da5779490) who is more active in the guild has indicated that this change would not be welcome, but I'm unclear as to our stand on this situation in general. Advice?

@grandeR, I've just had a look at the chat in the Barefooters guild and I don't think that broadening the guild in the way Eriliu is suggesting would be helpful or welcome to existing guild members. Some of their suggestions are already covered by the spiritual/pagan guilds and the cookery guilds. In view of that we should refuse their offer to take the leadership role, particularly as they have not been active prior to the hail. I would like to give it a little more time as it s a support guild, and also if Last Rites occur we will be shutting down the guild if there is no response. That being said did you want to see the other PCOS players would be interested in seeing if the ~~ship~~ guild is sea worthy. Maybe one would like to run a challenge to assist those overcoming the obstacles.

@cTheDragons: about The JRPG Club that I have been monitoring, no response from the guild since you've posted answering the question about members not having members(Guild does not have to have a leader). It looks like that this guild is likely to roll over to the next list. The sites cannot be reached as I tried accessing them and the Facebook page for the relevant group's last post was 2013 but there are so many members and the guild appears to be slow moving but active, although the vast majority of member has not been active for more than a month though (881 members out of 1141, with 405 resting in the inn and only 187 active less than a week).

One post since hail. Two likes on my post but no volunteers. 12 posts since last hail, and most of those were about creating challenges. This guild was transferred from the May-Nov 2017 list. The number of active members has dropped since then (932/1149 active > 1 month, 398 at the Inn and 140 active < 1 week) and only 8 people have joined since. Given that this guild links to a defunct website & deleted Twitter page, I doubt many more people will join. Merges have been suggested in the past for other Japanese language-learning guilds. This one may now be a good candidate for that. The LearnJapanese Guild is very active, WaniKani and Japanese Deep Cave Adventurers much less so. Floydius (User ID:c52d4ff8-a022-4726-8508-9e9096ec3285) successfully revived The LearnJapanese Guild, a former Pirate Cove capture. They may be receptive to a merge.

Reporting back from Writers. Two people have volunteered to lead the guild: AngelCnder (ba895697-3779-4f08-a116-0746558a61c4) and Tal (cadf60ec-4de1-4917-b615-35d7503be51c). Both are fairly new to Habitica. Tal has been very active in the chat and has started up a challenge in the guild.

I recommend posting the following message, or something similar to the guild.

@AngelCnder & @Tal I have just heard back from the Powers on High regarding your request to be guild leader. Thank you for applying! Because you appear to be new to the guild they want to be sure of your long-term commitment before transferring leadership. They have therefore decided to leave things as they are for the time being but we will keep an eye on the guild for a few months to see how things go. Please just keep doing what you are doing and promoting discussion, hosting challenges etc. Once you have shown that you do intend to stay around, the issue of who is guild leader will be looked at again. If you need any help please let me know!

Dungeons & Dailies is a way to turn Habitica into a Dungeons & Dragons game! You'll gain six stats that grow over time and represent your real life attributes. Then you get to explore dungeons, slay monsters, and earn titles!

The first step to your D&D adventure, is to join the "D&D" challenge. That is where you can adapt your game to more of an RPG feel. Second, is to journey into the first levels of one of the dungeons! If you have any questions or ideas, feel free to ask me! -Isaac

Purpose

Dungeons & Dailies is a set of challenges made to make roleplaying opportunities in Habitica, by making a system based on TTRPGs. It was created to be similar to Dungeons & Dragons, one of the more popular TTRPGs. It sets itself apart from other challenges in Habitica because it follows your real-life abillities and skills over time, giving you a direct look at your progress. It was also made with the purpose of developing well-roundedness in an individual.

Habits

There are two different categories of habits in this challenge, Attribute habits, and Other habits. Attribute habits are each meant to serve as a sort of "experience bar." When you develop that habit, you click its plus. When you make negative progress, you click its minus. As you develop this habit, it will move closer to becoming "bright blue." Once it is bright blue, you have gained a point in that attribute! As a reward, you should click the "Loot!" habit three times. Then you should add a point to the Attribute To-do that matches it. Finally, you should delete the Attribute habit and replace it, so that it is no longer bright blue and you can try to level it up again.

You develop different habits by doing different kinds of activities. The kinds of activities are as follows.

Strength: Athletics and physical activity. Constitution: Health and hygiene. Dexterity: Practicing skills and trying new things. Intelligence: Paperwork and literature. Wisdom: Chores and spirituality. Charisma: Socializing and altruism.

The other habits are called "Loot!" and "Damage!" They are used for general rewards and punishment. You are to click "Loot!" When you do something positive that doesn't fit elsewhere in your habits. You may also use it when someone thanks you or sincerely compliments you. You are to click "Damage!" when you do something negative that doesn't fit in your habits elsewhere. You may also use it to punish yourself for cheating.

To-dos

Whereas your Attribute habits are made to represent how close you are to improving your real world ability, your Attribute To-dos represent your current real-world ability. The to-dos here are meant to display your D&D attributes so you may compare them to each-other or with other players. When a habit has become bright blue, you add one point to the correct Attribute To-do. You may make a 30 point checklist to keep track of each attribute, or you may write the number in the information section of the to-do. You start with seven points in each attribute already. This is to make the challenge attributes more similar to Dungeons & Dragons attributes. The highest you can raise an attribute is thirty.

Titles

Titles are a kind of reward gained through D&D. You may add any title you possess as a suffix after your Habitica profile name. They are mainly gained through two methods. One is by earning them in a D&D adventure module. The adventure module you are in will tell you how to get one if available. The second and more common method is through raising your attributes. Raising any attribute to eight, gives you the title, "The Beginner." Achieving different levels in different stats gives you increasingly prestigious titles. These titles are gained at these levels in these stats:

Strength: 10 The Scrapper 15 The Brawler 20 The Fighter 25 The Berserker 30 The Slayer Constitution: 10 The Page 15 The Squire 20 The Soldier 25 The Knight 30 The Champion Dexterity: 10 The Scoundrel 15 The Burglar 20 The Scout 25 The Rogue 30 The Vigilante Intelligence: 10 The Student 15 The Apprentice 20 The Journeyman 25 The Wizard 30 The Arch-mage Wisdom: 10 The Adherant 15 The Disciple 20 The Healer 25 The Cleric 30 The Saint Charisma: 10 The Dreamer 15 The Changeling 20 The Bard 25 The Sorceror 30 The Fey

Adventure Modules

Adventure Modules are challenges made to integrate with the basic "D&D" challenge. They typically come in sets of three challenges, Challenge 1, Challenge 2, and a BOSS BATTLE. Winning a BOSS BATTLE challenge earns you a title. Adventure Modules usually include three things. A set of dailies that serve as enemies, a habit called "Roll die!" used to defeat enemies, and some way to "win" the challenge. Usually a challenge is won by successfully slaying all enemies for one week, or defeating the boss. Sometimes winning an Adventure Module challenge allows you access to another challenge.

The first thing you will read in an Adventure Module daily, is its description. This provides flavor and story to the adventure.

The second thing you will see is which habit you need to develop to roll a die. All the dailies are won with a die roll, but different dailies have different ways to roll that die. Most dailies have a specific Attribute Habit you need to click to roll the die. Each time you develop the corresponding habit, you may roll to try to beat the daily. Each roll only counts for one daily, no multiple kills with one roll.

Roll the die by simply clicking the "Roll die!" habit. On the mobile version this doesn't work, so you can roll a real die, or find a dice roller on the internet.

The next part of the dailies information, gives you the effects of the roll. It shows the effects of each result of the die. On a roll of one, you don't destroy the enemy and click the "Damage!" habit. On a roll of six, you succeed in destroying the enemy, and can click that you've done that daily. Also on a roll of six, you click the "Loot!" habit. On a roll in between these two numbers, the effects depend on the daily.

There are multiple ways to improve your rate of success with this die roll. For each level you have gained in a stat, that is divisible by five, you may roll an additional die upon clicking a habit. You may pick whichever die result you wish among the different results. You may only pick one result. Another way to remember how many dice you roll for a habit is this; For each title you have obtained in an attribute (with the exception of "The Beginner"), you may roll an additional die. Some rewards purchased in D&D affiliated challenges may change combat in other ways.

Doctors, medical students and health professionals. and perform last rites on the other guilds? The suggestion has come from the leader of Doctors, medical students and health professionals. and in this instance is good one considering the 1st guild is agreeing to go and the other is considered empty. If you wish we can cause a vote to happen in both guilds to ensure everyone has their say but I fear for the second one there may not be much chatter considering its history.

The only thing that may need attention in Medical Professionals which is in the countdown of last rites, and someone has stated they wish to keep the guild but has come to group after the last rites hail. That being said there is no harm waiting for month (while you recover and for us to keep the guild around)

Your Final Hour Gaming (YFHG) is a gaming community created by myself and a close friend of mine. We want it to be a place where anyone can come together and play games with no pressure or stress from other members. Our motto is "Real life comes first," and we will hold true to that forever. We understand that things happen, and it's completely okay if you simply can't log on for the day because of something happening in the real world. That is part of our desire to create a low-pressure environment where all kinds of gamers, from casual to competitive, can come together to enjoy the wonder of video games. Habitica is no exception, so no shaming other members if they weren't able to complete all of their dailies!



Unfortunately, due to our real lives, our gaming community is on an indefinite hiatus (ironic, isn't it?). However, in any games we play, we still create groups and guilds under the same name and run them on the same philosophy, so YFHG is not dead! It's simply on the back burner for the time being. So, if you come across said groups and guilds, then feel free to join, because nothing has changed other than our community being limited to specific games rather than the large, consolidated mass of gamers we were trying to create.

Your Final Hour Gaming the captain has return to Habitica and left the guild thus making me captain of the guild by the Pirate Bot. @wolfastronaut (User Id: cc8ce11b-9399-4fc6-a36a-122fed53d9bd Born: 2016-08-21 NOT POSTED BEFORE HAIL OR LAST RITES NOTICE) stated would like to take the guild on. They have encourage some movement among the crew but it has died down since January. They have also yet to produce the challenge they were interested in. Suggestions? Make them captain as the other has left their post? Wait? Delete as it been nearly 3 weeks since any movement? Thanks

Last chat over 3 months ago. Less than 16 (out of 71) members who are still active in Habitica in the last week. Maybe hail first and if there is no reponse then consider Last Rites.

For the others in your list, I've reviewed them all and I'm happy for you to handle them as you see fit. For any that you think aren't revivable, if you want to you can post a warning that they'll be deleted in a week (optionally with a note that we won't delete if anyone wants to try to revive the guild).

I have also hailed with a view to Last Rites I have taken these on as they are religion based guilds therefore need a senior touch.

For [Eclectic Spiritualists' Guild] @kAbi, child of Light (User Id: 7adf6ada-3c05-4054-b5df-fa7d49d3b9eb Born: 2014-01-29 ) First posted in guild 14 Oct (just after second hail) and volunteered to become captain after third hail on 3rd Feb 2018. They have active in chat for a slow moving guild and are hosting a challenge. However the current leader @Irenea has just logged on 23 February 2018. Could we call parlay 6 month rule this guild as it been more than a year that @Irenea has logged in habitica and then has missed another month? Particular since they have not stated they are back in the guild when they logged over 1 month ago?

Reporting from my journey to Effective Altruists: No response to hail but suspect that it is a rather slow moving guild as opposed to one that is dying. This is because there are still active members in this guild, with 147 members active less than a week (not including me as I joined them as a pirate) so last rites just doesn't seem as appropriate here as some of the other guilds I've hailed, and appears to be the only one guild of this type in which I can find. From my observations, Duncan (User ID:3524dac3-d920-41c4-ac0a-5e44ec0956dd) seems to be a good candidate, however, I am a little hesitant to PM them due to the hail having no response.

Hailed 20 days ago. No response. 142 members active less than a week, which is a substantial membership. Not too sure what to do here confused.

Hailed 11 Jan 2018. No response. 142/861 members active less than a week, which is a substantial membership. But recommending last rites as no active chat since Nov 2017 (which was a party find) and prior to that discussion on how slow the guild is / definition of the guild. The latest challenge created is June 2017.

They have **NOT** Posted before hail (15 February) but verbally supported by two players. They are already running challenges since stating to be guild leader on the 15 February. Effective Altruists: leader has been changed to redmagexii (39a634bd-2c83-4e70-81bb-346b5757ceb3). It was a borderline case since they are new and the old leader wasn't gone the full six months, but since the old leader doesn't have any posts in the guild and the new one is very active, it's likely to be a good change.
