Guilds Guide
  • I have updated the ~entire~ list of the guilds in all of the categories. I've added a *bunch* of mid-sized guilds and even some of the smaller but possibly significant ones (like the Alcoholics Anonymous guild or the Korean & Arabic guilds for example).
  • I have rearranged the guilds by topic, so for example, in the "Fandom" section all the Harry Potter related guilds are now grouped together, I've generally tried to go from the biggest and the most general to the smallest and the most specific. I aimed for a more intuitive display. Additionally, since many of the guilds don't contain the keyword for their topic anywhere in their name nor in their description (take the "Early to Bed, Early to Rise" guild for example - it's main subject is "sleep", but it is mentioned absolutely nowhere and thus it cannot be found by searching for "sleep" related guilds via the text search function), grouping them by their topic can be all the more helpful and useful.
  • I messaged the leaders of the smaller guilds, asking whether or not they want to be listed in this guide - the replies I've received thus far are collected in the Guilds Guide page talk in the List of Guilds Owners' Statements section. For those guilds who opt IN, I will be adding their guilds in increments.
  • Created the List of Guilds Owners' Statements section, which I intend to divide to a hopefully more readable "Guilds who said yes" and "Guilds who can't be bothered with the Guilds Guide" (yes/no) sections so it will, hopefully, be easier to see which of the guilds are *not* to be contacted regarding the Guilds Guide cause they don't want to.
  • (The statements of the guilds owners are stored in text + date format as well as screenshots attached to the list in a slideshow gallery ~as evidence~).
  • I am currently 1/3rd into messaging the leaders of the guilds that were already listed in the Guilds Guide with a similar message, mainly to a/ confirm they want to be there, and also to b/ ask them to add/check/modify their respective guild's description so it is up to date, up to their liking and fits the -brief- 5 lines topsies format (as was suggested in the Guilds Guide talk page some time ago). This is because some (few, like 2 or 3) guilds have no description whatsoever, some (like 5-10) have exceptionally long ones - the long description is beautiful, but this here is a -guide-, the details can stay and be beautiful on the guild's page - and many guild leaders don't know that a Guilds Guide even exists.
  • I am working on updating the guilds count in the notes on the very top, but it is very hard to count almost 600 guilds manually, I've tried doing it it twice thrice now and I've made mistakes twice thrice, so I still need to work on this...
The Keep: Pirate Cove
  • I've updated the time, date and other details on all the guilds in the "Guilds in our sights" section. Captain said it's clearer and more informative now, swabbie happy :)
  • Generally I'm helping Captain Mara with the updating the record of our work as pirates:
    • adding the newly sighted guilds to the "Guilds in our sights" list and to the "Guilds with similar topics" list too if applicable;
    • adding the captured guilds to the "Captured" list;
    • adding the captured guilds to the "Current Activity" list;
    • adding the sunken/submerged guilds to the "Sunk" list;
    • removing the sunken/submerged/captured guilds from the "Guilds in our sights" and if applicable also from the "Captured" and "Current Activity" lists;
    • moving excess records of our captured and sunk conquers over to the archives;
    • updating our kill coun.. err, updating the count!

These are just regular and recurring updates, but they need nice piratey role playing copy written in pirate slang preferably, because we're pirates, we can't have common English there ^^ Thus far the Captain seemed content with the content I've come up with, so I'm content as well :) My aim here is to learn the chores well so as to unburden her to the extent of my capabilities and become a useful helper ^-^

Markdown Cheat Sheet
  • Added the way to produce one line under another
  • Added the way to produce one line under another with 1 blank line separating them
  • Added the way to produce a horizontal line (horizontal break)
The Keep: The Armory
  • Checked all the pages in The Armory from the beginning to November 2015
  • Made a useful list of dubious and quite possibly abandoned pages for @Alys - the list is useful cause it's both chronological and categorized
  • Messaged the guild leaders asking if they know their guilds have pages in The Armory (so far 1 in 3 didn't) - the intended result of this action is for them to either use these pages or tell @Alys to delete them if not needed

Other Contributions[]

This doesn't count anywhere in the wikia and it's like the work of an invisible hand, but while browsing and checking the guilds both for the Pirates and for the Guilds Guide's purposes, I have a few times encountered inactive guilds which were also -new- and the guilds owners were newcomers to Habitica. In such cases I have sent them messages telling them where they might find useful tips, friendly advice and guidance on everything guilds & challenges related, and sent them a nice and supportive message with links to "Guilds Leaders & Challenge Creators", "The Challenge Sandbox" and "The Bulletin Board" with a few words on what these guilds do etc., that they can always swing by at the Pirate Cove if they're in a pinch. I know it's not work for this wikia, but just wanted to write this here :D Have a nice day, whoever reads this! ^^/
