GuildBot

The Guild Bot (Username/Display name: GuildBot) is a helpful account, doing all of the leg-work of finding guilds with inactive leaders or abandoned guilds ships. Often seen in the Pirate Cove, GuildBot can be found lurking in all Public Guilds, just waiting to help.

Biography[]

GuildBot, though sailing around the seas of Habitica before, started actively hailing from February 2019. They answered the call to help in monitoring all the many guilds ships populating the Habitican seas. Ever since then, GuildBot has helped many ships find a new captain!

The Costume[]

When GuildBot started taking a public role in observing the ships in the Habitican seas, they needed a public attire worth of their role, so a challenge was held where pirates could offer their ideas in how to dress-up the bot, and vote on the proposed ideas. The chosen attire, the one we can see as the bot avatar, has been put together by @acciobooks.

Profile[]

Clicking on GuildBot's name will show its profile, which says:

Hello! I am the bot for Pirate Cove. I assist the pirates of Pirate Cove. I automatically join every new guild but I don't take any action unless the guild's leader leaves the guild or goes missing for six months. Then I help the pirates find a new leader from amongst the members of the guild.

You can learn more about the Pirates of the Pirate Cove and what we do in our FAQ.

Please feel free to ask in the Pirate Cove if you have any questions regarding me.

Which Guilds is GuildBot in?[]

GuildBot joins all public guilds automatically soon after each guild is created. If a guild leader removes GuildBot from the member list, it will rejoin automatically within a day or two.

GuildBot is also in a small number of private guilds. These are either guilds that the Pirates use themselves (e.g., for testing GuildBot) or guilds that used to be public but that an admin made private. Usually when a guild is made private, GuildBot will be removed by the admin, but sometimes they forget. If a guild leader removes GuildBot from a private guild, GuildBot will not rejoin it.

Reports Produced by GuildBot[]

GuildBot produces four reports in json format each day based on their travels.

  • stats.json – Daily Activity of number of guilds per day and changes.
  • gus.json – List of current guilds not under pirate activity and associated stats. This report is used by User:Botswain to update the Guilds Guide and other wiki pages.
  • pirate.json – List of guilds under pirate action.
  • elf.json – List of all challenges in all public guilds and Public(Tavern) challenges.
