Egg Hunt is a collection quest in Habitica. Completing this quest rewards each participant with 10 Plain eggs.
Availability & Cost:
It was released on April 06, 2014, and is re-released every year during Spring Fling. When available, the quest scroll can be purchased from the Seasonal Shop for 1 gem. It is not part of a quest bundle. Once purchased, the quest scroll remains in your inventory until used.
Difficulty & Length:
Since there are 40 items to collect this is considered a medium length quest. Without using Rogue perception-boosting skills, a four-person party would typically take more than a week to finish this quest.
Description[]
Overnight, strange plain eggs have appeared everywhere: in Matt's stables, behind the counter at the Tavern, and even among the pet eggs at the Marketplace! What a nuisance! "Nobody knows where they came from, or what they might hatch into," says @Megan, "but we can't just leave them laying around! Work hard and search hard to help me gather up these mysterious eggs. Maybe if you collect enough, there will be some extras left over for you...

On Completion[]
When hatched, the plain eggs become hatched eggs - eggs colored according to the hatching potion used (10 eggs = one egg per type of hatching potion). These hatched eggs can be fed, and will grow into Egg Mounts.

Trivia
History:
- 2014: One scroll was awarded for free to all players who'd signed up for Habitica before April 6, 2014. The scroll was also available in the Market until the end of Spring Fling, for the price of 1 gem. At this time, only the Egg Pets existed.
- 2015: One scroll was awarded for free to all players who'd signed up for Habitica before March 25, 2015. The scroll was again also made available for purchase for the price of 1 gem, but had moved to the Seasonal Shop. At this time Egg Mounts were also added.
- 2017: The number of items to be collected was reduced to 40.
Egg availability: Unlike most quests, completing Egg Hunt will not unlock additional reward eggs for purchase in the Market, but completing this quest twice is enough to get all possible pets and mounts.
